Ingredients:
Vegetable Oil
Batter Blaster Buttermilk or Organic Original batter
Oreos
Powdered Sugar
Chocolate syrup
Homemade whipped cream

Directions:
1. Heat vegetable oil in saucepan to a medium heat. Test the oil’s temperature by spraying a dab of Batter Blaster into the oil. If the batter keeps its color, then it’s ready. If the batter doesn’t bubble, turn up the heat. If the batter immediately turns brown, turn down the heat.
2. Next, spray some Batter Blaster in a small bowl and dunk the Oreos (however many you want to make) in the batter to cover completely.
3. Using a pair of tongs, remove the Oreos from the batter and drop them in the heated oil. Use a fork to flip the Oreo to check the underside. Once this side is golden brown, flip the Oreo and let the reverse side cook for the same amount of time.
4. When both sides are golden brown, take the Oreos out of the oil and place them on a paper towel to soak up the excess oil.
5. Serve the Oreos on a plate topped with chocolate syrup, powdered sugar and homemade whipped cream. Yum!

Recipe of the Day: Batter Blaster Ice Cream Sandwich

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

The sun is hot, school is out and all you want is something cold to eat. Well, we’ve got the perfect summer recipe for you!

Batter Blaster Ice Cream Sandwich

IMAG0108

Ingredients:
Batter Blaster Double Chocolate (or Organic Whole Wheat with Cinnamon & Brown Sugar)
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (or ice cream flavor of your choice)
Cooking spray

Directions:

1. Preheat waffle iron or griddle to 325 degrees (or 350 degrees if using Organic Whole Wheat). When the iron or griddle is done heating up, spray with cooking spray.

2. Make a Batter Blaster waffle or two Batter Blaster pancakes.

3. When the waffle is done, put a scoop of ice cream on one side and fold over the other side like a sandwich. If you are making pancakes, simply stack the pancakes on top of each other with ice cream in the middle. Wrap your ice cream sandwich in saran wrap and stick in the freezer.

4. Leave in the freezer for at least 3 hours. Then remove it and enjoy!

Recipe of the Day: Batter Blaster “Flagjack”

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

Yesterday, being Flag Day and all, we got a little patriotic in the office. Low and behold we came up with a new recipe!

The Batter Blaster "Flagjack"

Ingredients:
Strawberries
Blueberries
White Chocolate Chips
Batter Blaster Organic Original or Buttermilk

Directions:
1. Warm up your griddle or frying pan at a low heat so the batter doesn’t cook too fast.
2. Spray the batter on in a small rectangle (make sure it’s small enough to flip, unlike the above picture).
3. Drop blueberries, chopped strawberries and white chocolate chips in the batter to form the shape of the United States flag.
4. Turn up the heat to a medium level so the entire underside of the pancake cooks. When it seems ready, quickly flip the pancake over. The fruit will make a sizzling sound on the griddle; this is normal and does not mean it is burning.
5. In 2-4 minutes, your flagjack will be ready! Serve with syrup, whipped cream or any topping you like!

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

Ingredients:
Batter Blaster Organic Whole Wheat with Brown Sugar & Cinnamon
2/3 Cup of Pecans
3 Tbsp Maple Syrup
½ tsp Cinnamon
½ Cup Powered Sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla
Milk
Butter (or cooking spray)

Directions:
1. Preheat your griddle (or frying pan) for 10-15 minutes until it reaches 350 degrees (medium heat).

2. While your griddle (or frying pan) is heating up, toast your pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat. When they start becoming fragrant, put them in a small food processor or blender and add maple syrup. Pulse until paste-like.

3. To make the glaze, sift powdered sugar into a bowl adding cinnamon followed by the vanilla and a little milk. Continue to add milk until you get the proper consistency.

4. Next, coat your pan with butter (or cooking spray) and cook your Batter Blaster Organic Whole Wheat with Brown Sugar & Cinnamon pancakes on your heated griddle. You can always add more cinnamon in the batter to give the pancakes a little more spice!

5. When your pancakes are ready, place a little bit of your pecan-maple paste in the center of each pancake and roll it up. Then, drizzle your pancake rolls with the glaze.

6. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top and enjoy!

“I have been having lots of fun with your product. The other day my boyfriend dropped little bits of homemade blueberry preserves in to the batter which went deliciously with my blueberry infused agave syrup that I made…so another stroke of chocolatey genius hit this morning. I again took my agave syrup and sprinkled in cocoa powder and a yummy spoonful of Nutella. Then I took the Nutella and made pretty swirls in your awesome blaster product..it was a hazelnut chocolatey Batter Blaster dream..when paired with thick cut Bacon I was in heaven…Thanks Batter Blaster for bringing back my creative side in the kitchen!

Sincerely,
Kendra

I’ve attached a picture ;) enjoy!”

Batter Blaster at the Super Bowl

Friday, February 4th, 2011

batterblaster_football

Batter Blaster will be at the Super Bowl!…well, maybe not…but it can be at your Super Bowl party! Surprisingly enough, you can make some pretty mean appetizers with Batter Blaster pancakes. One of our favorites is Batter Blaster Sausage Wraps.

Step 1: Prepare sausage links any way you like.
Step 2: Cook Batter Blaster Organic Original pancakes.
Step 3: Wrap slices of sausage inside Batter Blaster pancakes.
Step 4: Insert toothpick, serve hot and enjoy!

FAQ:
What kind of sausage do I use?
Any kind tastes delicious! If you like spicy, Jalapeño sausage adds an extra kick to the savory-sweet combination.

How big do I make the pancakes?
Smaller pancakes are great to wrap around smaller slices of sausage and serve as an appetizer. If you’re looking for a meal, make a bigger pancake and wrap it around a whole sausage link!

Where do I get more creative Batter Blaster recipes?
You can get more recipes on the Recipe section of our website!

Who will win the Super Bowl?
Either the Steelers or the Packers. It’s hard to say– we just make pancakes!

Hope your Super Bowl Sunday is a BLAST!

Sweet Potato Pancake Rolls

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. What are your sweet potatoes doing? This year you can spice up their role in your Thanksgiving feast, and give them a spot on the dessert table as Sweet Potato Pancake Rolls. Recipe taste-tested and approved by the Batter Blaster staff. Mmm…yammy!

Sweet-Potato-Pancake-Roll-008

Sweet Potato Pancake Rolls:

1 can Batter Blaster
1 sweet potato
1/3 cup milk (this amount may vary)
1 tsp Pumpkin Pie spice
Maple syrup to taste
Salt & Pepper
Toothpicks

Sweet Potato Puree:
Wash and peel your sweet potato, then cut it into about one inch cubes. Boil the cubes until soft, drain and move to blender. Add about 1/3 cup milk and “pulse” until most of the cubes are broken up. Puree until you reach the desired texture. If your mixture is too gummy, add touches of milk as you go.

Once the sweet potato is pureed, add spices and maple syrup to taste. If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can substitute your favorite Autumnal spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and/or brown sugar.

Note: Instead of sweet potato, you can substitute other seasonal vegetables such as pumpkin or butternut squash into this recipe.

Pancake Rolls:
Make the pancakes as big or small as you please. Bigger ones may be perfect for breakfast while smaller ones would be great for a party platter of pancake rolls.

Putting the pancake “upside down” (meaning the last side cooked to the top), spoon a helping of sweet potato puree into the middle of the pancake. Roll and secure with a toothpick. Drizzle with syrup and serve. Enjoy!
